Even the strongest fall

In May 2020, during the height of the pandemic and the BLM movement, I went out to Saguaro National Park in Tucson just to get away for a bit. I find so much comfort being in 100⁰F, in the desert surrounded by saguaros, and with my camera. I always come to the saguaro in the first picture. Always amazed with how grand and resilient they are, surviving and thriving in this intense heat and terrain. During that time, I let out all my emotions and took in all my energy from the sun and heat. I felt so rejuvenated.

Flash forward to April 2022. Went back with Blanca to just be in the desert again. But I could not find the saguaro. I started to retrace my steps until things started to look familiar, by that point I knew the saguaro had fallen and it had to be laying down somewhere. And when I found it, I guess I felt a sense of closure...not sure from what.

Even the strongest fall to mother nature eventually.
