Diego “Nacho” Lomas Lozano
Diego Lozano is a Phoenix-based graphic designer, photographer, visual artist, and digital strategist. He seamlessly fuses these skills to create intentional branding and authentic storytelling, focusing on themes such as skin, strength, cultures, social/political issues, and landscapes.
Born in Arizona with Mexican-American heritage, Diego's creative process is deeply influenced by his cultural roots. Both of his parents hail from Mexico—his mother from Morelos and his father from Michoacán. Every summer, Diego would visit Morelos, which has become his second home. This is where Diego picked up photography as a child, capturing moments at home in Arizona to share with his cousins in Morelos and vice versa. This immersion in two worlds—Arizona and Morelos—has significantly shaped his perspective on life and as a creative, allowing him to blend these experiences in his work.
As a graphic designer, Diego specializes in intentional branding. His work includes creating bold logos, branding + identity, marketing materials, and digital content that tell authentic stories and enhance the visual impact of his clients' work.
Diego's photography serves as a form of therapy, aiding his mental health journey. Through nude self-portraits, he has found a path to self-acceptance and mindfulness, making his art a powerful tool for personal growth and strength. Recently, Diego did his first art show, titled "CONÓCETE AL HUESO," which incorporated multiple mediums such as photography, performance, sound, and storytelling. It was a raw and emotional experience, showcasing his versatility as a visual artist.
Active in the immigration rights movement since 2011, Diego has honed his digital organizing and advocacy skills, using graphic design and photography to amplify the voices of those affected by critical issues.
From 2017 to 2023, Diego served as the Digital and Marketing Director at Aliento, where he was instrumental in creating the organization's branding and identity. His work during the 2022 election season reached over 3 million people through organic posts only and played a crucial role in the passage of Proposition 308, granting Dreamers access to scholarships in Arizona.
Diego's work is a testament to the power of art, advocacy, and community engagement.
Diego is a big fan of Star Wars and Nintendo games. He enjoys CrossFit, coffee, and hiking in his free time.
